Why Debby Was Nominated

Debby was nominated by Steve Houghton, who shared his personal experience of how she supported him during his rehabilitation after suffering a stroke in 2019. Steve began his recovery in 2021, where he first met Debby.

Reflecting on his journey, Steve said:

“The best way I can describe Debby is that she had a way of bringing peace and calm in a strange environment. When I arrived, things felt quite confusing, but Debby stood out as the person who provided the reassurance I needed. She always arrived with a cheerful smile and was there with a hug when it was needed.”

Even after being discharged, Steve shared that Debby’s kindness and support left a lasting impact on his life, one that he will always remember.
