Ron is a very kind hearted gentleman and thinks of others a great deal. This includes doing sponsored walks dressed up as Santa for Havens Hospices. He brightens every bodies day.
Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford would like to nominate our customer Ron for being one of the most inspirational people living with dementia. Ron is 93 years of age and is one of the most, positive, friendly, people we have ever met. Ron has a zest for life that inspires everyone who meets him. Whilst unaware of his diagnosis, Ron is aware of the importance to keep his mind sharp and active and will ask of ways to do this, he knows that he is getting older and with that, is susceptible to aged related illnesses. Ron has always been an active man and shows no signs of stopping even at the ripe old age of 93!
Ron likes to keep active with daily walks and going to local activity clubs. Everything he does is with a smile on his face and in his own positive way, each year he attends The Havens Hospice charity Santa run with his Bluebird Care team. He is a real team player and also taught one of his carers how to play the piano too. This showcases his unwavering determination to live his life to the fullest and help others too. By taking part in the Santa Fun Run, he raises vital funds for Havens Hospice, becoming a symbol of community responsibility and compassion. Ron’s story illustrates the power of a supportive network that allows individuals to remain independent living in their own homes. Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford, his family and the local community all work together to ensure his safety and to be able to continue to enjoy his life doing what he loves the most. The extra visits from his carers, the supportive dog walkers that look out for him when he goes out walking on his own and his watchful neighbours all help to weave a safety net that enables him to remain safe and independent as possible.
Ron’s impact extends over and beyond personal resilience. He actively participates in and enriches the local community. His presence at customer parties, coffee mornings, open days, and school nativity plays and even when he just pops into the office, brings joy to everyone he meets and reminds every one of the importance of inclusion and belonging. Ron’s story goes beyond his diagnosis of Dementia. His resilience, community spirit and his ongoing efforts to stay active, engage with others and to give back to his community serve as inspiration to not only those living with Dementia but to us all.
We gave Ron his organ today and it was lovely, he was so over whelmed and said " that's fantastic I can't wait to play Bubbles" which is I am forever blowing bubbles. " Thank you, Thank You" I wished you could have been there, it was lovely.
