Supporting Dementia Care: A Special Donation from Pollard’s Promises

At Pollard’s Promises, we believe in making a difference in people’s lives, especially when it comes to supporting those in need. Recently, we had the opportunity to contribute to a cause that truly touched our hearts.

Dean, one of our team members, came across a Facebook post by Patricia Curry, a dedicated local woman working for the Dementia Trust in Sussex. Patricia was seeking donations of electronic items to enhance the daily lives of patients in the Dementia ward at Brighton Hospital. Understanding the positive impact that familiar sounds, music, and entertainment can have on individuals with dementia, we knew we had to help.

Without hesitation, we reached out to Patricia and arranged a donation of a brand-new portable DVD player, wireless headphones, and a portable radio. These items will provide residents with comfort, stimulation, and an opportunity to engage with their favourite music and films—things that can bring joy and spark memories in those facing dementia.

Upon receiving the donation, Patricia expressed her heartfelt gratitude:

“Thank you so very much for your gifts. It really is so kind and thoughtful.”

It’s small acts of kindness like these that truly make a difference. We are proud to support Patricia’s incredible work and to play a role in improving the quality of life for those living with dementia.

If you would like to get involved or make a donation, we encourage you to reach out to local dementia charities and see how you can help. Every little contribution can bring comfort and happiness to those who need it most.
